A gentle, non-foaming clay cleanser for all skin types, effortlessly removes makeup, daily grime and impurities. Active botanical ingredients help clarify and decongest the skin leaving it feeling fresh, clean and balanced.

Properties: Purifying and Balancing. Gentle, coconut oil and sugar derived natural cleansing agents thoroughly cleanse the skin, without stripping it of its natural oils. Papaya enzymes, willow bark, and clay decongest pores. Added soothing ingredients and antioxidants help soothe and repair the skin.

Red Clay: ​​Mineral-rich red clay absorbs excess oil and impurities in the skin, tightening and clearing pores.

Moringa Oil: ​​Certified organic and rich in Omega-9 fatty acids, this oil helps dissolve oil-based impurities and gives our cleanser a luxurious texture.

Coco Glucoside + Decyl Glucoside: ​​These sustainable surfactants from coconut oil and natural sugars gently cleanse the skin without causing dryness or irritation. EcoCert approved, and palm oil free.

How to Use

Massage 1-2 pumps onto dry face and neck. Rinse muslin cloth in warm water, wring out and sweep gently over skin to remove cleanser. Finish with a splash of cool water. Use twice daily.


This product is packaged in a glass bottle that is reusable or recyclable in single-stream recycling. Étymologie uses carbon-neutral packaging for all of their products.

Alternative for

This product is an alternative for harsher facial cleansers made with synthetic ingredients and packaged in disposable plastic bottles. 

End of Life

This product should be used until finished but is otherwise 100% compostable.


Étymologie was founded by Raquela Cheesmond as a solution for her sensitive, acne-prone skin and the desire to create a sustainable, high-performance skincare line. Her inspiration and passion for sustainability, green beauty and science all started while studying biochemistry and food science at McGill University in Montreal. Sustainability is a key driver behind Étymologie, from the natural and organic ingredients they source to the infinitely recyclable glass bottles and carbon-neutral packaging they use.
