BLUE FRIDAY

🌊Blue is the new Black🌊
We are thrilled to announce that we will be a participating brand of @Blue_Friday.ca this year to support ocean conservation initiatives.
Blue Friday is an alternative to Black Friday, where businesses (like us) donate a portion of their profits on November 25th to Blue Friday. Blue Friday helps fund different ocean conservation projects every year to change the conversation surrounding mass consumerism, disrupt the norm and create change for the future.
This will be our 2nd year participating on Blue Friday and  doing our part in changing the conversation around over consumption by diverting consumer dollars towards other forward thinking, eco-minded companies and will pledge to donate 15% of our sales on November 25th, 2022.
Founded in 2019, the Blue Friday initiative has raised over $66,000 to date. In 2019 & 2020, Blue Friday purchased three Sea Bins located in the Saanich Marina, removing tonnes of marine debris each year. Data from a UVIC study showed that 90% of debris in the Seabins was expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam, commonly referred to as styrofoam, which is one of the most noxious and omnipresent threats to our oceans. In 2021, Blue Friday decided to go straight to the source and fund the replacement of EPS foam at the First St. Dock in Tofino and at Meares Island.
This year, in partnership with Surfrider Pacific Rim, Blue Friday is working towards closing the loop by building a localized circular economy for a styrofoam processing facility in Ucluelet, BC. This will include building capacity to clean, grind, and process marine plastics into usable products like styrofoam surfboards.
Give purpose to your purchase this year by shopping #BlueFriday November 25th 💙.
