Beautiful new product from Women with Abilities - rural women in Uganda.
These lovely raffia basket are great as a fruit bowl, a trinket platter, or a display on the wall. Use them in kitchen, living room or bathroom - they fit in every space! Handmade with natural materials by a women’s group in Kikooba village in Uganda.
Three different sizes:
Big: diameter 44-46cm, height 10-12cm
Medium: diameter 33-35cm, height 8-9cm
Small: diameter 27-28cm, height 5-7cm
The product is handmade from raffia dyed with natural plant dyes. Can bleed. Do not keep long periods in humid conditions to avoid moulding. If the basket becomes dirty, you can wash it slightly with detergent and sponge, let to dry out thoroughly.

This product is composed of raffia (palm leaf fibre) and dyed with natural plant dyes.
PACKAGING
This product comes package-free, besides a small paper label letting you know the name of the woman who made your basket!
END OF LIFE
This product should be used for as long as possible and then donated to give it a new life. Otherwise, it is 100% compostable!
BRAND
Kikooba Women with Abilities is a group of local women in Kikooba village, two hours drive west from Kampala, the capital of Uganda. The women from poor background come together to learn new skills and to engage in income-generating activities. They meet regularly to produce gorgeous crafts from local natural materials. Their baskets, mats and jewels are made from banana leaves, sisal and palm fibres.

Delivery schedule: Our local delivery drivers collect orders every Monday and Thursday and will have them to your door within twenty four (24) hours of the time they picked them up.
*NOTE for CONDO and APARTMENT buildings, please leave a phone number where we can reach you when we are on our way. We will call you and leave the package outside your building, our team is not able to buildings. Please enter buzzer number when applicable and any indication that package can be left with concierge or at lobby.

We repurpose all packaging materials we receive for order shipments, including any cardboard boxes, paper, tissue, and corn-based packing peanuts. We use recyclable paper tape with water activated adhesive. Sometimes, plastic wrapping falls on our hands from certain vendors. We keep it for situations where a bit of bubble wrap will help better protect your product.
We encourage you to repurpose it and keep it going around :)
